Geelong’s Final Inspection Specialists Your new home build is almost complete and the keys are almost in your hot little hands… Exciting! It is imperative that you have an independent final inspection to identify any defective or incomplete works prior to your PCI to ensure your house is built to the minimum standard for quality and workmanship. Here’s a snapshot of what a final inspection by Manse Group typically involves: 1. PREPARATION Before heading to site, the dedicated Assessor completes a review of the contractual documentation to prepare for the inspection. They risk-rate job specific items that compliment our standard thorough checklist. 2. COMMUNICATION Where possible, we liaise with the Site Supervisor/Builder to arrange inspections and take the hassle away from you. We also send the report directly to the builder and client within 24-48 hours. 3. TIME ON SITE Conducting a thorough inspection takes time. Our recent average final inspection time is 5.5 hours on site. It can vary depending on the size of the house and the quality of the build. There is also some time spent compiling the report off-site afterwards. 4. NUMBER OF ITEMS CHECKED Our recent average of checked elements for a home is 164 items. Prior to engagement, we supply a sample checklist highlighting what we check at a minimum, this is our commitment to our clients. We go into every inspection with open eyes and typically find extra items. Our initial documentation review gives us the opportunity to find build-specific items too. 5. NUMBER OF DEFECTS FOUND Our recent average for items found during a final inspection is 17 major non-compliant items along with 59 minor defective items. Our detailed reports are 100% factual and ensure your Site Supervisor/Builder and the relevant trades know the location of the defective item so it can be closed out. 6. RE-INSPECTIONS FOR OUTCOMES The most important thing is to ensure that any problems are fixed prior to handover. We complete a re-inspection of rectification works that was required which ensures the best possible outcome for our clients as the builder is held accountable. Clients have peace of mind knowing what issues have been fixed and can pay their final invoice feeling confident in the quality of their new home.
